This colorless Montana sapphire was carefully shaped by The Gemstone Man as a refined alternative to the traditional wedding gem. A pear cut was chosen to make the most of the rough’s natural form and depth, producing a graceful silhouette we call the “Lazy Pear.” It is not flawless — the stone shows internal growth patterns and a visible inclusion — yet those same characteristics contribute to its individuality. Fellow collectors and lapidaries recognize this gem’s uncommon appeal, since most Montana sapphires occur in blue or green tones. The light blue/grey you see in a couple of the photos is the gemstone picking up the exterior color of a building we did some outdoor shots next to. The gem (in our opinion) is colorless.
